Die riesige, buddhistische Anlage besteht aus 252 Grotten und Nischen, die im 5. Jahrhundert entstanden sind und viele tausend Figuren und Statuen enthalten sollen. Vor einigen der H\u00f6hleneing\u00e4nge sind reich verzierte, h\u00f6lzerne Tempel und in anderen kann man noch die bunte Bemalung erkennen.
